And so it goes....
Dad passed away peacefully this morning. He put up quite the good fight. So, we're all heading out to New Jersey tomorrow. I'm taking my running shoes....I'm sure I'll need the soothing I get from my runs. In the meantime, my heart is broken.
I saw this poem online today, and I immediately thought of you and your Dad. I know you must be so filled with sorrow that it feels it has no end.
My heart is with you.

I Did Not Die
Do not stand at my grave and forever weep. I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and forever cry. I am not there. I did not die.
I am so so so sorry. I am glad to hear you will still get your runs in. I will miss you on Sunday but when I am out there I will keep you in my heart. I will try to PR for you. O.k. honestly I will just try to finish with a decent time. :)
I entered races in 2004, after years as a casual runner. Loving the marathon level of running, I now have entered the "dark side" -- ultrarunning. I DNF'd at my first 50 miler, only doing 40 miles. But I hit it in 2009! I am now a legit Ultrarunner!!

May Peace go with you! A death in the family is always hard, but the running shoes will at least give you an exit to find your peace.
My dad is 85 (in May), I expect I'll be going through this in the next few year's too.
God bless you and your family, thinking of you!
I'm so sorry...my prayers are with you.
