Carbs

There's a Farmer's Market a block from my home on Wednesday mornings. I always forget about it, but Haight doesn't. He disappeared this morn, only to return with blueberries, cherries, asparagus, dill, sugar peas and beautiful flowers. Now mind you...he doesnt eat most of them. He did that for me! Am I lucky or what.

I'm down another 2 lbs. I've discovered that the carbs I should eat are basically fruits and vegetables, any white products that go in my system sticks to my body in ugly ways. So I've basically eliminated them from my diet with great results.

I've avoided running since Saturday, biking every other day for at least an hour. I saw Beast Woman (my masseuse) on Monday and she brutalized my IT band. It feels better but not fully there yet. I'm icing daily and using the heating pad at night. I should be ready for the group run on Saturday--at least that's the plan!

1) yeah Haight is the man. I know that and now you know that also.

2) your right about the whites. I would lose weight alot when I avoid them. This includes sugar. I just fall off the wagon alot.

3) mnaybe if I am nice I will also send you a copy if the IT band sterch. Lisa came me it last night.

Another bonus for eating carbs from fruits n veges is that u get a lot of vitamins as well. That can't be find as much as in grainy foods.

I know i get hungry all the time. For lunch, i usually eat what i call heavy veges (stuff taht makes me full). Broccolli and yams are always good.

Lora, congrads on the weight loss.

Haight is SUCH a sweetie to bring the healthy goodies for you.

I agree about the white bread foods - I love whole grain or whole wheat food instead. My new favorite snack food is the mini whole wheat bagels made by Thomas bagels. I plop some peanut butter on it. I can not eat them quickly because they make so full easily. Great snack food!

I think if I start to bike every few days maybe I'll tighten up the flabby parts that my running won't touch. But biking does NOT come easily for me...

Ha! As IF running does...

Congratulations on the weight loss, and for having such a great husband. Hmmm, maybe I should do something like that for my wife, I have lots of races coming up ;-)

Hope you are healed up for your group run.
