Have I Lost My Mind???
This guy made me do it---> Live to Run - Run to Live. He told me the NYC Marathon deadline for the lottery is the end of this month. SO I SENT IN MY REGISTRATION! I have no intention of running NYC this year, I'm not ready---BUT.....after 3 consecutive rejections, you are automatically in. This is my first application, in 3 years I'll be plenty ready for those bridges. Please pray they don't accept me this year!!

I wanted to run it LAST year, but didn't get in.
THIS year, I have other plans, and I won't take the chance of getting in, so I'll have to start over again next year. Oh, well. Que sera sera.
I hope it works out like you want! :-)
Lora! that's great!, well maybe it isn't?! LOL, too funny... i'll cross my fingers they don't accept! if they DO, we'll help motivate you to power train! when is it, november?
:)
man I will have to do it. if you get in you can postpone it for 1 year I think. I would love to run New York.I want to have 1 trip marathon this year near the end of the year and use up my vaction days I will have. NY may be perfect.
Yeah, I think if you're accepted you can defer one year.
yes you can always defer for 1 year if you make it. I did not know you were trying. you can not defer for 2 years though. also if you run it like 10 times you are automaticly in it.
ha! since when do we cross our fingers to *not* be in a race?! too cute.
Oh, please...that would give a great incentive!
And your daugter is all grown up and pretty, so you can train:)
Lottery draw is june 15th, so you'll know pretty soon. If you DO get in, I encourage you to go ahead and train up. The goal of "fiish my first marathon" is VERY possible to train up for in four months - I did!
But if you MUST postpone... you need to send in your race card with the information for cancellation filled out. They'll guarantee you a spot the next year, tho you'll still have to pay the regular application fees. And to my knowledge (I volunteered at the cancellation/help desk last year at the Expo), you can keep postponing 'til the end of time.
But I hope you don't postpone at all! Carpe diem!
I like what Brooklyn had to say. Carpe Diem Lora!
Are you kidding? This is your once in a life time chance to see and meet Lance Armstrong. He is planning on running the marathon this year. That alone would motivate me. Too bad I already signed up for Columbus marathon. Looking to hear the drawing results.
That is how I enter my events. It makes me dig in and really committ to a plan if I know I have signed up. You'd do great, plus you would get a trip to NY!
Oooooooooh! How cool is this! NYCM is one of the greats, you'll fit right in!
