Changing things around...

I'm trying to get used to my new work schedule. Problem is, I can't wake up early enough to run before work. So I'm trying to run afterwards. It hasn't worked out too well...yet.

Two days this week I was just too tired to do an after-work run...I've been a morning person for as long as I can remember! I made it to the club a few days ago, but never even thought about worrying what I had for lunch! As a regular morning runner, there's never anything in my stomach before I run, except for a banana and a cup of coffee. The pickle I had with my sandwich for lunch that day was not settling in well a few hours later and it totally ruined my running.

I tried again tonight. Skipped the pickle that Panera Bread included with my tuna on wheat (love their bread!) and the run went much better. But.....I wasn't hungry for dinner afterwards! So I had my Endurox drink. Guess this will bring me down a few pounds!

The trainer approached me again.....offered me a free weight training hour with him. Begged me to try him out. I told him I can't afford him.....he gave me the whole sales pitch that the club will be having specials at the end of the month (probably around the time the "resolution people" fade away). I gave in.....Saturday at 3 pm. I told him I won't tolerate him beating me up as I want to run long on Sunday morning. If he tries, I'm just going to have to take him down!!

p.s. anyone interested in my amazing dating stories must fly out here and run with me!!! :) And remember, whatever is said on a run, stays on a run!!!!

Stories? What stories?

If I had money I would fly right over so I can hear your dating stories, nothing more motivating than that! Instead, I guess I'll just have to leave it up to my imagination, which means you're in trouble now because tomorrow I have a 50K race with lots and lots of time to let mine mind wander, so my imagination will be probably be coming up with some pretty wild stuff! But don't worry, whatever is thought about on a run, stays on a run!!! ;-)

In the begining of the school year, I ran before work--that lasted a month! Too dark and cold after that. WTG on trying to get out there after work, sorry about that darn pickle:-(

GL GL GL with the trainer this weekend.

I iwsh I was a morning person. It seems training for endurance sports is built around being a morning runner. I think I should start a club for those of us who don't want to start our run at 8 AM and would prefer noon :)

I love pickles too, plenty of sodium. I agree I would rather run at night than in the morning.
Hey I'll be there as long as you’re buying ; ) My dad and I visited Chicago very briefly when I was little, great city I'd love to get back there someday.
Seriously I'm hoping one of these days we meet up at a race it would be a lot of fun. Maybe I can come pace/crew you when you run Rocky Raccoon 50!!!

I run whenever I can, sometimes in the morning, sometimes at night.. sometimes both. Food used to bother me, but I just kept pushing through and can eat just about anything that is not spicy and put in the miles comfortably. It took a while to get used to it. I figured since I was running ultras I might as well get used to it.

I wish I could eat lunch and not be hungry for dinner. I'm always hungry :).

But most times I run on an empty stomach. Perhaps that is not wise.

I wanna hear stories! :(

I hope you can get the after work running thing worked out. It's hard! I used to not be able to run with anything in my tummy, but then found that running at lunch worked for me, but only if I ate no more than egg whites with a glass of skim milk for breakfast.

Now I fade when I run on an empty stomach. Sigh... that March race is going to hurt ;o)

Have fun with the trainer!

I am much more of a morning runner as well. More so now due to the lack of time, but I like the comfort and routine of the morning run. Good luck figuring out a schedule that works for you.

By the way, I have the book you suggested and I remotely remember reading it many, many years ago, but I will pull it out again with the hopes of reading it in my copius amounts of free time :)

The air fare alone I'm sure is worth the price to hear those amazing dating stories! Too bad we've got a few states between us! ;)
