It's TWINS!!!

6 lb and 8lb non-bouncing medicine balls!! They just arrived to join their cousins, hand weights and a stability ball, in helping me stay in shape.

Sheila recommended the book Strength Ball Training, which I'm waiting for delivery. In the meantime, I've been strength training casually. I know I have to pick it up steadily, my goal is three times a week, but this heat has drained me this week.

Hopefully, this will get me moving.

This heat drained EVERYBODY all over the hemisphere, don't feel bad!

I saw a news report tonight where farmers in California were bull-dozing their dead dairy cows into giant graves from this dreadful heat. Very sad.

It's gotten cooler here now. Hope you're cooling off, too.

I use to lift weights regularly before I started running, but the more I run the less I lift nowadays. My wife was asking me about picking up a collection of weights like you got there for her. Those look heavy enough for me also.

One more trouble for you: the weights. I remember many years ago, during a terrible race (from the sea to the top of the Argentario mountain), a runner screamed: xxxxx (very rude word) among many available sports like chess, billiard, shot to the targets...why did we chose this shit of sport?

sounds like you have been busy! I need to start focusing on the weight training more too. I need to stop making excuses and just do it :)

Nice balls, lady! You will come to love them. And the book. It is just amazing at how much you can do with a stability ball and a few other devices. Remember that anything you can do sitting on a weight bench, you can do sitting on the big ball. You might need to use less weight, but you will be doing double duty--working whatever body part PLUS getting those nice core muscles working.

Can't wait to hear how it goes for you!
